Gentle notes of oak are presently not completely integrated with the densely fruited nose of cassis, black cherry and sauvage hints. There is excellent concentration and power to the big-bodied flavors that brim with dry extract that both coats the palate and buffers the firm tannic spine on the tension-filled and beautifully well-balanced finish. This is a big and robust Mazis that will require plenty of cellar time as it's on the rustic side at the moment. Still there is impressive potential and this should be terrific in time.
