    Forst Riesling Village

    I Pfalz har Bürklin-Wolf længe klassificeret vinene efter fransk inspiration: Grand Cru, Premier Cru, Village (landsby) og region efter forbillede fra Bourgogne. Forst Riesling Village laves på druer fra unge vinstokke fra Grand Cru markerne Kirchenstück, Jesuitengarten, Pechstein og Ungeheuer, som alle ligger ved byen Forst. Vinene fra Forst er i kraft af jordbundens indhold af basalt, ler og sand kendt for et udpræget mineralsk præg. Stilen i Forst Riesling Village er således også meget terroir-præget og med en struktur, som gør at kvaliteten reelt er på minimum Premier cru niveau. Vinen byder på subtile frugt- og urtearomaer, lidt røgfyldte og en meget fin, let salt mineralitet med den typiske Forster-kompleksitet. En meget elegant vin med et stort lagringspotentiale.

    The 2019 Forst Riesling Village is fascinating on the bright, precise and complex, elegant and aromatic nose that represents Pfalz Riesling at its best. Intense and juicy on the palate, this is a stunningly expressive and terroir-driven Riesling at this price. It is clear and vibrantly fresh yet dense, juicy and firmly structured with serious tannins but nevertheless mouthfilling, refined and elegant. The finish is salty and more than decent, and in fact, it is pretty long and tensioned. This Forster Riesling is on 1er cru level and one of the best buys of the vintage. Tasted as a sample in April 2020 and from the bottle a month later.
