2016 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge Famille Isabel Ferrando (St. Prefert)

On the palate this possesses a gorgeous plush texture, with wonderful concentration, backed by a core of dark fruit and spices which build to the long, velvety finish. Tasted from foudre, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape looks to be another stellar bottling. It combines all of the raspberry and spice notes of the 2015 with more intensity and richer, creamier tannins. 2020 - 2030.

Polished, soft and silky, the feels as good as it tastes. The fresh plums and cherries are ripe, juicy and with the right amount of peppery spice in the endnote. It is hard to find a better wine of this quality for the money. If you are not familiar with it, you need to check it out!

Deep shimmering ruby-red. Highly perfumed raspberry and cherry liqueur aromas are accompanied by potpourri and baking spice nuances, and a smoky mineral flourish builds in the glass. Juicy and appealingly sweet, displaying red and blue fruit and floral pastille flavors and a smooth, seamless texture. Deftly balances richness and vivacity and finishes long and spicy, with smooth, harmonious tannins and a subtle echo of candied flowers.

Intense raspberry and blackberry puree flavors stream through, with dark tea and melted licorice notes. A good graphite spine holds the finish. A fruit- driven style that will have a lot of fans. Best from 2019 through 2031.
