Fine pure clear pale primrose. The bouquet is superbly clear cut too. There is precision elegance and class here, with a beautifully defined finish. Impeccable balance, very far from blockbuster. Best Puligny-Montrachet to date.

(40+ year old vines). A more elegant nose offers up wisps of citrus and spice that add breadth to the pear, apple, white flower and lemon rind scents. There is a highly seductive mouth feel to the sappy and succulent medium-bodied flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the balanced and caressing finish. This moderately powerful effort should also drink well young but I would be inclined to allow at least it 5+ years of cellaring first. 92/2023+

Jacques Carillon's 2015 Pulingy Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Canet has lost none of its typical elegance in the 2015 vintage, wafting from the glass with a pure and classic bouquet of lemon oil and preserved lemon, white flowers, chalky soil tones and a subtle framing of new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, cool and tensile, with nice depth and concentration and a chalky, bright finish. 2018 - 2028 .

Very ripe peach oil and a hint of apricot on the nose, along with a sexy suggestion of leesy hazelnut. Not as sweet in the mouth as the nose suggests but offers excellent breadth and good grip. In a distinctly fruity phase at present, showing little sign of minerality, but firmer than it appeared to be last year from barrel. This wine, made from millerandé 42-year-old vines, has 3.9 grams per liter acidity, according to Carillon. Drinking windows: 2019-2026
