2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1. Cru Les Carrières Domaine Henri Felettig

Here the restrained nose resembles that of the Fuées though the floral elements are even more prominent. There is more size, weight and volume to the tautly muscular flavors that possess excellent mid-palate concentration as well as plenty of power on the mouth coating, balanced and beautifully persistent finish. This is impressive but it will require at least 5 to 7 years of cellaring first.

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Carrieres, which like the Les Fuées was 100% de-stemmed, exhibited a touch of over-ripeness on the nose, just a touch mind you-fig and prune aromas tincturing the precocious black fruit. The palate is ripe and energetic on the entry, a bold and upfront Chambolle-Musigny that fans out nicely, offering a grippy, feisty finish. It needs to learn a few manners by the time it is bottled and if so, then it could turn out to be a delicious, if rather exuberant Chambolle. Let's see.

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Les Carrières 1er Cru has a slightly more extroverted, higher-toned bouquet than its peers and delivers a scintilla of cassis, though not so much that it dominates the pure strawberry and raspberry scents. With aeration, a hint of pressed iris imparts more complexity. The palate is medium- bodied with supple tannin, extremely well-judged acidity, a satiny texture and a pixelated finish that immediately beckons you back for another sip. This is extremely fine, and as I intimated in my barrel assessment, it has "learned some manners" and is evolving into an exuberant and quite delicious wine. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting 2021 - 2040 .

very similar to Vieilles Vignes, but here you get much more intensity, complexity and length. Very stylish wine.
