Drappier Champagne Carte d'or Brut 20 cl.

Drappier is a true pioneer in Champagne, and was the first producer to make a Champagne without the addition of sulphur. To make a Champagne completely without added sulphur (sulphites) is today a well respected and common practice by the better Champagne houses. Carte d'Or has a bit of sulphur added, but in general, Drappier uses very small amounts compared to many other Champagne producers. Today the majority of their wines are organic, and in 2017 Michel Drappier was named "Green personality of the year" by Drinks Business, as well as becoming the first carbon neutral Champagne producer in the world. Carte d'Or has a beauitful yellow straw colour, an engaging fresh and full fruity bouquet of citrus, apples, white flowers, almonds, lightly toasted hazelnuts and smoky minerality. The champagne is made from 90% Pinot Noir, and has a very fine and slight bubbly structure with very great fullness and power. A superb champagne to enjoy as an aperitif or with the whole meal.
