2016 Riesling Trocken Nahe Joh. Bapt. Schäfer

This wine is the vineyard's business card, made from grapes from selected plots in the Laubenheim, Rümmelsheim and Dorsheim vineyards. The terroir is mostly slate with some quartz. All grapes are hand-harvested and the wine is aged in steel tanks. The light straw coloured wine has a delicate bouquet of citrus and lime mixed with a little spice, the medium-bodied flavour has hints of peach but above all plenty of freshness and minerality. A little tartaric acid has been observed in the bottles, as the wines are unfiltered, which is quite natural and harmless, and has only cosmetic significance.
