2016 El Transistor Rueda Telmo Rodriguez

Telmo started his independent wine adventure in Ruede in 1996 with the hugely successful Basa. For some years the idea has been to make a wine that can show the best the region can produce from the white wine grape Verdejo, reinventing some of the traditions of the past and combining them with modern techniques. This has been achieved. Telmo has found and bought some very old vineyards with original vines, which express the terroir of Rueda in a fantastic way through the Verdejo grape. The vineyards in the area are sometimes visited and ravaged by wild boar at night, so it was decided to put radios in the vineyards to scare the animals away, hence the name El Transistor. The result is a very authentic wine with great complexity, soft with crispness and elegance and finely rounded.
