2016 Château Lynch Bages 5. Cru Pauillac

Château Lynch-Bages got its name when Count Jean-Baptiste Lynch inherited the great Pauillac estate, Domaine Bages in 1749. The château and its 90 hectares of vineyards are a stone's throw from the town of Pauillac, and when you visit the estate you are rewarded with a magnificent view of the Gironde River. Jean-Michel Cazes has been at the helm of Château Lynch-Bages since 1974. Cazes is one of the most talented winemakers in the modern history of Bordeaux, as he has proved first and foremost at Château Lynch-Bages. His trademark is dark and very fruity wines, and these are the keywords for the completely sumptuous wine from Château Lynch-Bages. Today, his son Jean-Charles Cazes has taken over this fifth growth château, which is considered a super second, i.e. a wine that is on a par with second growth in both quality and price.
