2016 Château Lamothe-Cissac Vieilles Vignes Haut-Médoc

After many years of courting, we have taken over the distribution of Vincent Fabre's model château, Château Lamothe-Cissac. The estate is located in the municipality of Cissac, where they excel in making complex, well-structured wines that can often be difficult to distinguish from wines from Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe. The château bases its wine on Cabernet Sauvignon with a small amount of Merlot and Petit Verdot. Vieilles Vignes is the château's rare prestige cuvée. The wine is made only in good vintages and exclusively from grapes from the oldest vines. The effect is unmistakable: the wine's colour is impressively dark and the aroma is densely packed with fruity nuances of blackberry, blackcurrant and vanilla. The flavour reveals a richness and body normally reserved for Cru Classé wines - if only all Bordeaux were as good!
