2016 Château Gruaud Larose 2. Cru Saint-Julien

This historic 2nd Cru Classé chateau was completed in 1725. Located in the southern part of Saint-Julien, along the town itself, the majority of the fields have perfect southern exposure. The vineyards are located at the absolute top of the plateau in Saint-Julien. The vines are +45 years old - the oldest more than 80 years old.

Gruaud Larose has since 1997 been owned by the famous Jacques Merlaut, under the Taillan group, which owns several well-known wine châteaux in Bordeaux, such as; La Gurgue, Gaut-Bages Libéral, Citran, Rabaud-Promis, Chasse-Spleen and Ferrière. The chateau has been growing biodynamically since 2019 and has achieved cult status. The wine has become an international investment object and is known for its incredible ageing potential.
