2016 Blanc de Chasse-Spleen Bordeaux Blanc

The current owner, Céline Villars, took over in 2000, and comes from the same family that owns a string of châteaux in Bordeaux: Château Gruaud-Larose second growth Saint-Julien, Château Camensac fifth growth haut-Médoc, Château Ferriére third growth Margaux, Château Citran Haut-Médoc, Château La Gurgue Margaux and Château Gressier Grand Poujeaux Moulis. Château Chasse-Spleen is widely recognised as "one of the great" Bordeaux wines, which is sold in advance (a primeur) every year and is a safe investment. The château is a member of l’Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux, along with most other well-known Bordeaux châteaux. There is no tradition of white wine in this part of Bordeaux, and therefore, the wine started out as an experiment with family and friends of the house as "guinea pigs". In 1995 the wine was launched on the market for the first time and today it is among the best white Bordeaux wines.
