2015 Volnay Villages Henri Boillot

A deft application of wood sets off the ripe aromas of plum, cassis and violet. The medium weight flavors are notably finer as well as much more precise with an appealing bead of minerality on the beautifully textured finish that delivers excellent depth and length. This is a first-rate villages though in fairness, it's a premier cru in all but name. Recommended. /2021+

Bright medium red. Alluring scents of black cherry, violet and rose petal accented by a hint of white pepper. An essentially gentle, supple village wine but with noteworthy texture and depth and some spicy oak showing today. Finishes with nicely buffered tannins and very good length. This should be sweet, savory and gulpable in its youth.
