    Torrione

    The estate is one of the most celebrated comets in Tuscany. Until a decade ago, it concentrated mainly on the production of Chianti, which had little or nothing in common with the qualities achieved today. With the help of the energetic Sebastiano Rosa (whose stepfather is the man behind legendary Sassicaia), Tenuta di Petrolo has moved up among Tuscany's top ten vineyards. Torrione is one of the estate's celebrated top cuvées. It has a deep red colour and a big and splendid bouquet of blackcurrants, violets, as well as tobacco, mint and spices. A beautiful and impressive wine with warm and generous fruit, as well as soft and full tannins in the long, long flavour.

The bouquet is soft and sunny with red fruit aromas, cherry and crème de cassis. The wine offers a mid-weight finish with bright acidity that is characteristic of Sangiovese. This wine is, in fact, mostly Sangiovese with smaller parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This vintage tastes more immediate and accessible. 2017 - 2024.
