2015 Quinta do Vallado Douro Superior Red

The Douro is a region made up of three parts: from west to east are the regions of Baixo Corgo, Clima Corgo and Douro Superior. The Douro mainly has young vines (80%) and the remaining 20% from very old vines, some over 70-years-old. The wines from the different vineyards are fermented and aged separately before the final wine is blended just before bottling. Made from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Sousao grapes, all from organically certified vineyards. It is a very aromatic and fresh wine, with hints of violet on the nose, well structured and powerful with round tannins and a long elegant afterttaste.
