    Kloof Street Rouge

    The Kloof Street wines are wines with freshness, balance and good drinkability. Swartland Rouge is a Mediterranean style blend based on Syrah with other Rhône varieties. The grapes come from different plots throughout Swartland and with different terroir. The seductive blend of southern Rhône varieties has a bouquet of violets, spices, dark fruits and some white pepper. The medium-bodied wine is finely structured with firm but soft, approachable tannins and a fresh, long aftertaste.

    When you take South Africa's most exciting wine region of the moment plus one of its most dynamic producers, the outcome can only be exquisite. Here, Syrah make up 86% of the blend, along with Grenache, Carignan, Mourvedre, Cinsault and some Tinta Barocca. It has gorgeous lifted red fruit, spice and violets on a light, fresh palate , making it quaffable but still very serious.
