2014 Gran Terroir Pinot Noir Gualtallary Zorzal

Made from hand-harvested grapes from the lower part of Tupungato, where temperatures vary between 35 degrees during the day and 15 degrees at night. The big difference gives the grapes a thicker skin than normal, which gives the wine a deeper colour, greater aromatic complexity and a nicer structure. The grapes are fermented with wild yeast in open wooden vats before being aged in large Burgundy barrels for up to 14 months. The result is a very floral and mineral Pinot Noir with intense cool berry fruit. The ageing does not disturb the pure fruit but gives slightly spicy touches. The flavour is immensely focused with nice depth and acidity and a deliciously long finish.
