    Gigondas La Colline

    The grapes for this top cuvée come from one of the domaine's best and highest plots. Here, old Grenache vines grow in chalky marl soil and produce a low yield of small concentrated grapes. The best grapes from these old vines are sorted and vinified separately. The wine is aged for 18 months of which 12 months is in 600 litre French oak barrels (new and up to 6-years-old to preserve the fruit). La Colline has an intense ruby-purple colour with a deliciously clean and fresh aroma of red fruits including cherry and blackcurrant with floral hints of violet and lily. In the mouth the wine impresses with its creamy fullness, depth and ripe fine-grained tannins. A lovely Gigondas with great ageing potential.

Sappy, penetrating and appealingly sweet, offering juicy raspberry and cherry flavors and a touch of candied lavender. The mineral and floral notes repeat on the very persistent finish, which is given shape by subtle, fine-grained tannins.
