    Clos Apalta

    The grapes for this wine come from 60-year-old vines from the Apalta vineyard in the Colchagua Valley. The bouquet is impressively intense of fresh and pure fruit. Aromas of perfectly ripe berries and dark fruits dominate the inviting and complex bouquet. The elegant flavour is extremely rich in fruit with a perfectly balanced acidity and well-integrated tannins, ending in an incredibly long aftertaste.

It really suffers when compared with the 2015, which feels longer and has a different quality of tannins, but I prefer both to the 2013. This matured in 100% new French oak barrels for 26 months. 62,388 bottles were filled in June 2016.
