    Chianti Classico

    Paolo di Marchi really loves the Chianti Classico from Isole e Olena. The wine has a spicy bouquet with hints of raspberry, cherry, violet and some oak. The flavour has a pleasant soft and round structure with good fruit and round tannins in fine balance. The wine contains a small amount of Syrah (very rarely seen in Chianti) which gives it an extra generosity.

The 2014 Chianti Classico is 80% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo and 5% Syrah, aged in small and large oak barrels for one year. It offers beautifully polished and fine aromas of wild berry, toasted almond, grilled herb and blue violet. Compared to its peers from this difficult vintage, this wine offers noticeably more definition and depth.
