2013 Viu Manent Vibo Viñedo Centenario San Carlos Colchagua

The name ViBo comes from the family name Viu Bottini and Viñedo Centenario refers to the fact that the grapes for this top wine come from vineyards planted over 100 years ago in the heart of the Colchague Valley. In Viñedo Centenario, Viu Manent experiments with the versatility of the Malbec grape by combining it with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are from the San Carlos vineyard and the Petit Verdot grapes from the El Olivar vineyard. In this delicious blend, Malbec gives the wine body, freshness and complexity while Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure and elegance. Petit Verdot adds structure, complexity and intensity while adding liveliness and depth to the flavour. The result is a deep and intense ruby red wine with a complex aroma of red and black fruits such as ripe plums, blackcurrants and raspberries. A wine with nice body, great structure, round tannins and a long aftertaste.
