2013 Riesling Cuvée Sainte Catherine Domaine Weinbach

Riesling Cuvée Sainte Catherine is a selection of maximally ripe grapes from a cluster of plots located below the Grand Cru Schlossberg vineyard. The name of the cuvée is taken from the saint Sainte Catherine, who is celebrated on November 25th, and it is typically on this late date that the grapes for Cuvée Catherine are harvested (normally harvesting starts at the end of September in Alsace). The golden wine possesses a big, smoky bouquet of exotic fruit and minerals. The flavour is bold and very concentrated, and the intensity of flavour is incredible. An untamed Riesling!
