2013 Michel Redde Pouilly Fumé Bois de St Andelain

The grapes for this wine come from plots with vines that are over 30-years-old, and Michel Redde bought the plots in the early 1970s. The vines grow on a terroir of reddish flint soil in the municipality of Saint-Andelain, which gives a very mineral and spicy wine with lots of concentration, nerve and energy. The wine has a lovely light yellow colour with a golden edge, a very elegant, smoky and spicy bouquet from the flint soil, the flavour is deliciously crisp, full-bodied and dry with fine acidity and a fascinating mineral finish. Can handle decanting.
