2013 Estrany Sant Sadurni d´Anoia Cell. Credo Recaredo

With Estrany, Celler Credo has made a wine in very limited quantity in the spirit of their ancestors with a minimum of intervention from vine to bottle. The organically and biodynamically grown grapes are hand-harvested and fermented using an old and now forgotten technique where the grapes are not pressed immediately but left to steep with the skins. This contact with the skins allows more of the character of the Xarel-lo grape to shine through in the final wine. And is that technique really as weird ('Estrany') as it may seem today? Not when you taste the result! The wine has a special depth and aromatic complexity rarely seen in a Xarel-lo. Must be experienced! The wine is not filtered before bottling to retain all its nuances, so a little natural sediment may occur.
