    Côte-Rôtie Château d'Ampuis

    Château d'Ampuis Côte-Rotie is on its way to the same cult status as Guigal's three famous single vineyard wines, La Mouline, La Turque and La Landonne. The aroma is extremely complex, composed of a jumble of fruity nuances mixed with minerals and a velvety touch of vanilla from the three years of barrel ageing. The flavour is elegant and spectacularly aromatic, and the aftertaste is very long.

It's not a blockbuster but has good concentration, bright acidity, and building tannin, all suggesting 3-4 years of bottle age will be your friend.
