    Cobos Malbec

    Cobos Malbec is Viña Cobos' top Malbec. It is only made in exceptionally good vintages and is made from the best grapes from 60-80-year-old vines. The 2005 vintage is the best, most complex and sophisticated (released) version to date. It is a study in concentration and power that is rarely surpassed in Argentina or anywhere else in the wine world. It is Malbec on Epo. It is the wine world's answer to the best and finest thoroughbred Arabian stallion - grace, elegance, finesse and, above all, power and tenacity. This is a blue-black wine, almost inky in its appearance. The aroma is packed with blueberries, blackcurrants, cloves and a touch of truffles. The flavour is absolutely overwhelming. It is hyper-concentrated, but at the same time carried by a lightness, so that one has no doubt that it is wine and not essence. The supporting element is dark berries/fruit added, soil, cloves and a touch of anise. It ends in an almost endless finish rounded off with ripe, refined tannins. It is unsurpassed Malbec, whose worthy opponents must be found in Bordeaux Premier cru!
