2013 Chardonnay Heintz Vd Green Valley Russian River Deloach

The Heintz vineyard is cultivated by grape grower Charlie Heintz and is located at the top of a ridge at an altitude of 274 metres in the Russian River Valley's Green Valley area. The soil here is rich in Goldridge sandy loam, a soil type that characterises the area's top vineyards. Green Valley is one of Sonoma County's coolest areas. Pacific evening fog blankets the vineyards, cooling them after hot summer days. This allows a slow ripening and development of great aromatic complexity in the grapes enhanced by the mineral-rich soil, while maintaining freshness. The Chardonnay grapes here get the optimal growing conditions, resulting in a juicy, luscious, creamy and full-bodied Chardonnay with lots of depth. Aroma and flavour of ripe peach and apple with hints of dried ginger and hazelnuts.
