2013 Cepparello Isole e Olena

Cepparello is Paolo di Marci's extraordinary cult wine made from Sangiovese. The wine is made from grapes from old, low-yielding vines on Isole e Olena's best vineyards. The ageing takes place in French barriques and lasts one year. The wine offers an incredibly complex bouquet of cherry, rose, and a host of mineral facets. The flavour is very enveloping and elegant, then explodes into complexly composed fireworks of berry aromas and impressive minerality. Although the wine tastes incredibly good young, it has a huge ageing potential on par with the best Brunellos.
