2013 Alpamanta Estate Cabernet Franc, Mendoza

The organically and biodynamically grown grapes for this wine are grown at an altitude of 950 metres in Luján de Cuyo at the foot of the Andes Mountains. Here the clean air, intense sunlight and cool nights produce small concentrated grapes with aromatic complexity and good acidity. The hand-harvested grapes are fermented with natural wild yeast before the wine is aged in French oak barrels. The result is an elegant wine with clean aromas of black berry fruit with hints of pepper and herbs. The wine is soft in the mouth but with a good structure from firm tannins and a nice balance between fruit concentration and fresh acidity.
