    Kirchenstück Grand Cru

    Kirchenstück Riesling G.C. is an incredible wine that has no equal anywhere else in the world. It has a sumptuous aroma with nuances of exotic fruit, anise and an absolutely stunning minerality. The flavour is extremely concentrated and full-bodied, and is countered by the unique minerality for which the Kirchenstück vineyard is known. Although the wine is enormously full-bodied and rich, the minerality actually makes the flavour seem very elegant. The aftertaste almost does not stop.

On the palate a compact substance of ripe fruit is ably complemented by a generous spirity expression. Though the acidity only plays a walk- on part, the necessary edge is provide by an almost tactile sensation of peel notes on the finish. The Kirchenstück may be big, but it is not without subtlety.

    Exotic aromas of yellow plum, tobacco, muskmelon, brioche and lemon oil. Rich and creamy in texture, displaying the impressive depth of peach pit fruit typical of this outstanding site. With expansive clove spice on the finish and enormous length, this is a very impressive dry riesling. In fact, I may even be underrating it today.
