2012 Bollinger Côte aux Enfants

Bollinger Côte aux Enfants is not a Champagne, but a Coteaux Champenois Rouge. A red wine. Originally, it was not sparkling white wine, but rather red table wines that were produced in Champagne. The red wines were made from Pinot Noir, and the best could easily compete with the red Burgundies. Boillinger makes its historic red wine from grapes grown on a postage stamp sized plot (0.5 hectares) called Côte Aux Enfants, located in the legendary Grand Cru, Aÿ. The red wine possesses the same characteristics as a Grand Cru from Côte de Beaune and the ageing potential is really excellent.
