2011 Corimbo I Ribera del Duero Bodegas La Horra (Roda)

Corimbo I is made from 100% Tempranillo from vines that are on average 40-years-old, i.e. twice as old as Corimbo. The wine ages a few months longer in the barrel and a higher percentage of new barrels is used (up to 80% new). The wine has a nice deep red colour, the bouquet is bursting with black ripe fruit such as plum and blackcurrant and the oak barrel contributes some notes of vanilla and coconut. The flavour is complex and concentrated, yet with Roda's elegant characteristics, as well as some spice and minerality.
