2010 Teho Malbec, Altamira Mendoza

The 4 different plots are called Cabacera: the sandy soil, gives an acidic wine with a floral bouquet, the 4% Cabernet Franc gives structure and fullness. Calcario: As the name suggests, the subsoil contains lots of chalk and limestone and gives a very dark wine with mineral character. Silt: This vineyard's underground consists of silt, a very fine-grained soil type, as well as some large surface stones, this soil gives very full-bodied and full wine, and the 7% Petit Verdot adds ripe tannins and backbone to the wine. Calcario with Petit Verdot: This plot consists of Petit Verdot with 5% Malbec, and the very chalky soil gives the wine an unprecedented black colour and fruit and a lovely minerality.
