Grappa di Barili di Sassicaia is the result of the sensational collaboration between Jacopo Poli and Tenuta San Guido, the winery behind Italy's most famous wine, Sassicaia. The noble brandy is made exclusively from the marc of grapes used for the divine Sassicaia, and every detail is taken care of throughout the production process. The distillation lasts an unprecedented length of time, and the Grappa is aged in selected oak barrels from Sassicaia for at least 4 years before bottling, and 1 year in the bottle. The final result is stunning: the aroma holds endearingly clean and gentle notes of wild berry, vanilla, hazelnut and toasted wheat. The flavour is rich in extract and very full-bodied, with a long soft finish. This Grappa oozes class and is a worthy alternative to even the most expensive Cognac.
