2010 Château Patache d´Aux Cru Bourgeois Médoc 1,5L

Château Patache d'Aux is the family's flagship, beautifully situated in the Northern Médoc and its history dates back to the Middle Ages when it was owned by a noble family from Aux. During the Revolution of 1789, the château was nationalised. Later, the château was a resting place for stagecoaches, as can be seen on today's label. The Lapalu family bought the estate in 1964. Since then, massive investments have been made in renovating the vineyards and in modern production facilities and the château has become known as one of the very best wines of the Médoc. The soil is classic for the northern Médoc, very clayey and chalky with lots of pebbles, the grape composition is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The wine is aged for over 12 months in oak barrels, cement tanks and steel tanks. Patache d'Aux is a strong and concentrated wine that can age remarkably well and its aromatic freshness and strong structure are still evident up to 10 or 15 years after the year of harvest.
