2010 Bernkastel Doctor Riesling Spätlese Wegeler

This is one of Germany's most famous vineyards. With only 3.26 hectares, it is also one of the smallest and the wines from this vineyard are extremely sought after because of their exceptional quality and great ageing potential. The vineyard is picturesquely situated up to 200 metres above the Moselle River. All grapes come from own fields and are harvested on the often very steep, stony, clayey and slaty slopes. The wine has a very refined, pale golden colour with an elegant, mineral and fruity bouquet with hints of lime fruit, citrus and green apples. The flavour is very full-bodied and fruity due to the natural ripeness of the grapes and finishes elegantly fresh with plenty of minerality. A classic!
