2010 Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

Thanks to a deep understanding gained through years of research and experimentation, Allegrini has perfected a style of Amarone that truly allows the grapes' full potential to be expressed. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta are left to dry naturally for 3-4 months and checked daily to ensure perfectly healthy grapes. When the grapes have lost 40-45% of their original weight and the flavours and sugars have become highly concentrated, the concentrated grapes are fermented separately according to the type of grape. Then it is aged for 18 months in oak barrels before the different wines are blended. The final blend is then aged for 7 months before release. The Allegrini family's Amarone is known as a true classic - an Amarone that beautifully lets the character of the grapes and the terroir of the area shine through. The wine has an intense aroma of ripe fruit and spice, as well as an impressively big structure and depth in the mouth where the alcohol is kept in nice balance by the right amount of natural fruit acidity and marked but very refined tannins.
