2002 Salon "Le Mesnil" Vintage

Salon was founded in 1921 by Eugène-Aimé Salon and quickly gained a reputation like no other. Already in the late 1920s it was the "house champagne" at the legendary Maxim's in Paris. Since then, the house has not looked back, the focus has been entirely concentrated on maintaining and even improving a legendary reputation. The secret behind this reputation is simple: only Chardonnay grapes are used, these only come from Grand Cru vineyards in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the vines are over 40-years-old, the wine is only made in great champagne years and there is often contact between must and yeast for 10 years!
