Beskrivelse

Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc

  • 17+/20P - Geoff Kelly Wine Reviews, oktober 2017: "Rich lemon with a wash of straw, the second deepest wine, so a little out of line. This one too has just a thought of reduction, freshly presented, but otherwise shows considerable integration achieved in the one year, relative to the 2015. Nett impression is more of chardonnay than sauvignon blanc, on bouquet, slightly lifted stonefruit and some oak / barrel fermentation. As with the others, as soon as you taste it, it is unequivocally sauvignon, oak integrating reasonably well, but here you suspect the degree of reduction is interfering marginally with the softness and roundness of the palate, making it harder. I much prefer the 2015 approach. The hardness makes the oak unsubtle on the finish. But it needs to be said, the more apparent 'grip' in this wine could make it good with stronger foods. Cellar 2 - 6 years."
  • 95P - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, oktober 2017: " It is beautifully fragrant on the nose showing lemongrass, grapefruit, almond and beeswax characters. The palate is powerful and flavoursome with excellent vibrancy and juicy fruit intensity. The wine is punchy and expressive displaying brilliant structure and length. At its best: now to 2025. "
  • 19-/20P - Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, oktober 2017: "Even straw-yellow colour. This is very tightly bound on the nose wig very good depth and intensity, showing ripe, green stonefruits with minerality. This has richness that unfolds in the glass. On palte , the fruit richness and sweetness is a feature, with up-front flavours of ripe green stonefruits, along with a range of florals and herbs. This has good weight and presence allied to fresh acidity, Subtle flinty nuances, quite in balance with the fruit here. This just grows in richness and layers in the glass. Still a fresh wine that has plenty of time."
  • 92P - Wine Enthusiast Magazine juni 2017: "Not the easiest vintage in Marlborough, this wine stands out as notable achievement. It's aromas are slightly feral, adding a funky edge. To scents of smoke and grilled white nectarines. The silky texture stands out, as does the long citrusy finish outlined by hints of pencil shavings. "
  • 92P - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate januar 2017: "The 2014 Wild Sauvignon has evolved into a lovely array of lemongrass, lime leaves and coriander seed hints over a core of grapefruit and dried herbs. Medium-bodied, the palate has a beautiful satiny texture with elegant herbal flavors and a long, lively finish."
  • På James Suckling's "The 50 Best Value Wines Under $50 in 2016" liste December 2016.
  • 94P - James Suckling December 2016: "A beautifully judged, barrel- fermented sauvignon that's really complex but tightly integrated. It shows attractive lemons, limes and grapefruit as well as ripe peaches and green mangoes across some gently waxy, lanolin-like notes and dried grass. The oak is subdued and discreet, adding a neat, spicy and gently meaty savory thread. There's a wealth of flesh and weight below, as handy oak spices run through some crisp yet concentrated melon and papaya with a wash of lime juice. Great acidity, a smooth and supple texture and a succulent and flavorsome finish. Gently creamy. Drink now."
  • 91P - Wine Spectator magazine oktober 2016: "The lemon-lime and lemongrass notes are precise, set on a light and supple body. Peppery, fresh herb accents linger on the finish, where the flavors crescendo and a lemon verbena detail sings out. Drink now."
  • 92P - Vinousmedia.com v/Stephen Tanzer d. 17.05.16: "(fermented in mostly old French oak barriques with wild yeasts; roughly two-thirds of this wine went through malolactic fermentation): Fresh scents of lemon verbena tea, menthol and smoke. Boasts terrific clarity, energy and cut to its flavors of tangy citrus fruits, white stone fruits and minerals, along with a complicating tropical fruit element. Sappy, dense Sauvignon Blanc with terrific underlying structure. This wine was bottled in November of 2015 following nearly a year in barrel and several months in tank. The Wild Sauvignon is routinely slightly higher in alcohol and lower in acidity than Judd's stainless steel version."

Producent beskrivelse

Cloudy Bay-vinmagerens egne vine
