2015 Volnay 1. Cru Les Chevrets Henri Boillot

A restrained, cool and beautifully elegant array of spice and violet-infused dark pinot fruit precedes the vibrant and mineral-driven flavors where the supporting tannins are even finer. I very much like the delivery plus there is first-rate depth and length on the balanced finish. This is very Volnay in style and is a wine of class and grace. /2023+ .

Medium depth of colour, neutral nose, lively fruit, generous through the middle, quite accessible but with some interesting detail. This does build quite nicely to the back.

fresh and energetic, aromatic nose of cherries and red fruit, elegant with finesse, fine complexity, discrete oak and grained tannin. Sublime wine.

Vibrant red fruit with a dark chocolate character and something like olive or juniper. Juicy, refreshing with astute bitterness that complements the cherry flavours perfectly. (RH). 13%. Drink 2018-2035 .

The 2015 Volnay Chevrets 1er Cru has a lovely brambly red fruit, wild hedgerow and rose petal bouquet that blossoms with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, gentle grip in the mouth, hints of brown spice and even a subtle nori-like vein toward a nicely proportioned, focused finish that lingers in the mouth.
