2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1.Cru Les Cherbaudes V. Vignes Fourri

This is notably more deeply pitched with its well-layered array of black cherry, dark currant, earth and wisps of forest floor. The suave, rich and caressing medium-bodied flavors brim with sappy dry extract that imparts a seductive texture to the velvety finish that is sneaky long.

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes has a floral bouquet, very expressive and charming even at this prenatal stage, with ebullient red cherries and redcurrant fruit, hints of cold stone developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. There is plenty of red berry fruit here, hints of spice and a touch of graphite seeping in towards the composed finish. Very fine.

Located just below the Clos de Bèze, Cherbaudes is on very hard, rocky soils on the southern side of the village. Deep in colour and intensely perfumed, this has some of the acidity and freshness that you'd find in a wine from the northern end of Gevrey, with sappy freshness, subtle tannins and classic Fourrier fruit sweetness and grace. 2022-30.

Healthy full red. Cherry and boysenberry fruit aromas are lifted by rose petal and violet, with a gamey nuance adding complexity. Silky on entry, with its cherry and raspberry flavors enlivened by pungent minerality. In a distinctly rocky yet smooth style, like a baby Griottes.
