2018 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Saintes Pierres de Nalys

I loved the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Saintes Pierres De Nalys Blanc. This wine continues to impress me, and this was its finest showing yet. Made in a more focused, reductive, vibrant style, it offers lots of crushed citrus and white peach-like fruit as well as some subtle spice and white flower notes. Medium to full-bodied, racy yet concentrated, it tastes like a beautiful White Burgundy from the South.

With good concentration, depth of flavor, richness and lift, the wine is full-bodied, fruity, fresh and filled with sweet, dark red fruits, cherries, herbs and earth. The wine is made from a Grenache dominated blend with Mourvedre and various assorted allowable grape varieties. Mainly Grenache Blanc and Bourboulenc, with smaller proportions of several other white grapes, the 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Saintes Pierres Blanc looks to be a solid effort for drinking over the next few years.
