2016 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge Famille Isabel Ferrando (St. Prefert) Magnum

Polished, soft and silky, the feels as good as it tastes. The fresh plums and cherries are ripe, juicy and with the right amount of peppery spice in the endnote. It is hard to find a better wine of this quality for the money. If you are not familiar with it, you need to check it out!

Vivid ruby-red. Expressive red and dark berry scents are complemented by white pepper, _ garrigue_ and floral pastille nuances. Sappy and broad on the palate, offering concentrated black raspberry, cherry and spicecake flavors and a touch of lavender. Smooth, harmonious tannins build slowly on a very long, seamless finish that leaves behind floral and juicy dark berry notes.

Intense raspberry and blackberry puree flavors stream through, with dark tea and melted licorice notes. A good graphite spine holds the finish. A fruit- driven style that will have a lot of fans. Best from 2019 through 2031.
