2014 Puligny-Montrachet Domaine Jacques Carillon

A wonderfully fresh and cool array is comprised by notes of apple, pear and acacia blossom. There is excellent volume to the attractively textured and relatively full- bodied flavors that possess good punch and a subtle minerality on the bitter lemon-infused finish. Note that this should drink well young.

Bottled end of March 2016. A blend of eight different parcels. Quite a piercing nose with lots of wet stoniness. Masses of acidity! Very youthful and austere at this point.

The 2014 Puligny Montrachet Villages has a very succinct bouquet. Nothing outlandish, nothing extravagant - just pixelated citrus and stony fruit that makes you wonder whether this is a village cru, not a premier cru. The palate is fresh and crisp with a keen line of acidity; it is tensile and steely with a precise bitter lemon, almost sharp finish that has a subtle marine influence. This is wonderful for a village cru.

Aromas of lime, apple, clove and ginger. Rich, spicy and supple on the palate, with a fine-grained texture and attractive sweetness. Finishes with sneaky length. This village wine's glyceral quality should give it early appeal.
