2013 Grande Cuvée TBA No. 6 Nouvelle Vague Weingut Kracher 37,5cl

The 2013 Grande Cuvée Trockenbeerenauslese No 6 Nouvelle Vague is a blend of 60% Chardonnay (fermented and aged in new barriques) and 40% Welschriesling (1,000 Slavonian oak barrel). This TBA is highly intense and concentrated on the palate, as well as sweet and aromatic. It is clearly dominated by Welschriesling at the moment, but the new oak of the Chardonnay gives it a great structure and spicy dimension that you can't find in the Nummer 3 Welschriesling TBA.

The heady, pure perfume of fig rind and foliage streams from the glass. A more tart and tropical note of passion fruit pitches in as well along with green grapefruit spice. The aromatic spectrum is a sublimation of exotic fruit on nose and palate. The palate sustains this high- pitched balance by the purest lightning strike of zesty acidity. Even the tiniest drop of this amber liquid has the power to perfume the entire palate for minutes. The concentration is immense, the flavors are mind-boggling. This is high-octane stuff guaranteed to blow your mind. Drink now or cellar it through 2040 at least.

A rich and buttery dessert white, with notes of chamomile to the pear tart, crème brûlée and almond pastry flavors. Offers a well-spiced, honeyed finish. Chardonnay and Welschriesling. Drink now through 2035.
