2015 Meursault 1. Cru Genevrières Henri Boillot

There is a mild hint of exotic tea to the apple, white flower and soft spice nuances. The refined, precise and intense medium weight flavors exude ample minerality on the sneaky long finish where a hint of mandarin orange appears. This is really lovely and the natural class of a fine Genevrières is very much in evidence.

Combines vivid green fruit with creamy texture and a touch of banana. Very savoury saline finish, and superb fruit definition. Long, dry finish that leaves an austere impression - lots of ageability. (RH) 13.5%. Drink 2017-2027

The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières opens in the glass with notes of peach, preserved citrus, nutmeg and oatmeal, framed by an exotic top-not of petrol. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and flavorful, with good concentration and superior tension and reserved by comparison with Boillot's more open-knit, easier-going Meursault Village. 2018 - 2028

Full yellow. Sexy, ripe aromas of orange and hazelnut. Supple and ripe, conveying a captivating sweetness to its apricot and orange flavors. A firm spine of acidity and minerality makes this a bit tight for drinking today. This classic full, ripe Genevrières finishes tactile and very long--and much smoother than the village Meursault. Boillot noted that this wine is strong in dry extract owing to the thickness of the skins and pulpiness of the grapes. He added that, in contrast to the 2005 vintage, there was no hydric stress here in '15 due to the smaller number of bunches and grapes. Drinking window: 2020-2027
